Many patients in the Houston, Texas area are looking for a facial rejuvenation, but don’t want to go through the stress and recovery of cosmetic surgery. If you’re one of these patients, an injectable treatment from Dr. Michael Eisemann might be appropriate for you.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is the most famous injectable, but it’s not your only option. One of the many choices offered by our Houston plastic surgeon is Juvederm®.
With Juvederm, Dr. Eisemann can thicken and plump most areas of your face, eliminating the signs of aging without a facelift or any other surgical procedure. Dr. Eisemann will thoroughly evaluate you to ensure that Juvederm is appropriate for your specific needs.
If you’re a resident of Houston, Texas or anywhere else in the country and you want to speakto our triple board-certified plastic surgeon about Juvederm, please call (713) 790-1771.
What is Juvederm?
BOTOX® works by using a medically engineered strain of the botulinum toxin to block the muscles in your face from receiving signals from your nerves. Juvederm, while it achieves much the same goals as BOTOX®, works a little differently.
Juvederm is what is called a “dermal filler.” It uses naturally occurring hyaluronic acids to plump and thicken areas of your skin that have become worn and aged.
Juvederm is injected under the skin and fills the soft tissues there. It also stimulates the growth of your body’s natural collagen supplies, which aids healing and rejuvenation.
Our Houston plastic surgeon can inject Juvederm:
- To remove smile lines that run from the corners of your mouth to your nose
- Around the mouth
- Between the mouth and the nose
Only Dr. Eisemann will be able to tell you if Juvederm is right for your specific needs.
Is It Safe?
Juvederm is FDA-approved and boasts an impressive safety record. Every cosmetic surgery procedure carries with it certain risks, but side effects from Juvederm are relatively mild and tend to last less than a week.
Most patients require little downtime and are able to return to work and other responsibilities immediately after receiving a Juvederm injection, though you should avoid strenuous exercise or extended exposure to the sun.
You should be completely honest and open with our plastic surgeon about your medical history and any allergies you might have. If you are, your Juvederm experience should be pleasant and safe.
Based in Houston, Texas, Dr. Michael Eisemann accepts patients from around the world. If you have questions about Juvederm for our plastic surgeon, please contact The Eisemann Plastic Surgery Center today.
