Plastic surgeons in Houston and around the globe are usually perceived as part of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. Much of this perception is attributed to plastic surgery almost always being an elective medical procedure rather than a procedure of medical necessity. However, that is not always the case, and many Houston plastic surgeons (including Dr. Michael Eisemann) give of their time to help patients with birth defects and other physical deformities. In fact, the 2012 Oscar award for best short film was awarded to Saving Face – a documentary about a plastic surgeon who treats Pakistani women victimized by acid attacks in their home country. This short film is just one example about how plastic surgeons change patient’s lives for the better. While Dr. Michael Eisemann is not an Academy Award Winner he is a top Houston plastic surgeon that has helped hundreds of patients (including youths) restore their physical appearance and self-confidence.
