For some Houston teens, looking their best can be more important than feeling their best. Rhinoplasty (“nose job”) is the most common cosmetic surgery procedure performed on teenagers according to the American Association of Plastic Surgery. Because the nose is the most prominent feature on the face and located in the middle of the face, an ugly one can create preoccupation and low self-esteem for some teens. The Eisemann Cosmetic Surgery Center understands the special issues teenagers confront with fitting in and looking great, but not all teens are candidates for rhinoplasty because their noses have not matured to adult size. A teenage girl’s nose is fully matured between age 15 and 16, but a teenage boy’s nose isn’t fully matured until between the 16 and 17. A great time for teens to have rhinoplasty is over spring break, summer break, or between high school and college. Contact Dr. Eisemann’s office to schedule an appointment.
