Bathing Suit Anxiety And Houston Men

While the summer solstice doesn’t occur for another several weeks, Houston’s summer temperatures are already here propelling us into bathing suit season. This can be an anxious time for some patients because they cannot hide under clothes at the pool or beach. While many think that women are primarily affected by bathing suit season phenomenon, men have their issues too. Beyond layers of fat around the abdomen and flanks, there are some adult male and adolescent male patients who must contend with gynecomastia, which is a condition creating female-like breast tissue in men.   While many gynecomastia cases in adolescent males self-resolve, this is not the case for adults. Men who have gynecomastia usually dread taking off their shirt in public places because they are self-conscious about having large breasts. Gynecomastia is straightforward to resolve using liposuction to remove the excess fat tissue. During this procedure a very small cannula is used and inserted through small, strategically placed incisions. The result is a reduction of the fatty tissue thereby restoring the chest to a more masculine appearance. Dr. Michael Eisemann of The Eisemann Plastic Surgery Center understands that this can be a tough issue for men, and especially teens. Dr. Eisemann has performed hundreds upon hundreds of gynecomastia correction surgeries successfully. For more information on treatment for this common but upsetting condition, please contact our office.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19

Dr. Michael Eisemann, Dr. Bradley Eisemann, and the entire staff at Eisemann Plastic Surgery are committed to the health and safety of all of our patients and ourselves.

We are thankful to be connected to Houston Methodist Hospital, one of the most respected hospitals in the country. Because of this, our screening policy is aided by the hospital's official policies and checkpoint screening measures completed prior to entering our building. These measures allow us to do everything we can, at this point in time, to minimize the chance that we expose ourselves or our patients to someone who has been sick or contagious with the virus.

We are set up to perform new consults and patient follow-ups via ZOOM video conferencing.

As of Monday, March 23rd, our office is open. We are open and seeing select patients. If you are currently on the schedule, please call our office if you have any concerns about your own health.

While all major hospitals have stopped elective surgery at this time, we are very selectively performing indicated operative procedures in our procedure room and in our AAAASF certified operating room under local and IV sedation.

As always, both Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann are available by phone and email to answer any questions you may have.
