Following breast augmentation surgery some patients may experience tingling or sensitivity in one or both nipples. The sensation can be similar to what one experience’s when their leg goes to sleep, which can be somewhat intense. The small percentages of patients who experience sensitivity in the nipples after breast augmentation usually have symptoms from 10 days to three weeks before the sensation subsides. The patient’s follow-up appointments with Dr. Eisemann after breast augmentation are very important, not only to make sure everything is healing properly, but also to address any concerns such as nipple sensitivity.
