The Reality of Breast Augmentation: Safe, Effective

The basic breast augmentation procedure has been performed with some changes for decades. Over that time, we’ve learned a great deal about how your body responds to breast implants and how to minimize danger.

The result of all this information is that the breast augmentation procedure is safer than ever. Hundreds of thousands of patients across the world undergo the procedure every year and experience no complications.

This experience has allowed us to even address concerns that have lingered for years, such as those related to silicone breast implants. We know now that these implants pose no unique dangers to patients in contrast to previous fears.

Still, we believe it’s vital to fully inform you of potential risks, no matter how unlikely they are. You can only make an informed decision when you’re given all the information you need. Some risks from breast augmentation include:

  • Capsular contracture
  • Implant rupture
  • Infection

The good news is that these issues are quite rare.

The Importance of Your Breast Augmentation Surgeon

It’s important to remember one key point- all of the information about the safety of a breast augmentation relies upon the assumption that your surgeon is properly trained and educated. A surgeon who lacks the proper experience and training can pose a real danger to your health and well-being.

Put simply, your choice of breast augmentation surgeon matters. This is still significant surgery, and you should only trust your body to a doctor who has earned that trust.

During his decades of work as a plastic surgeon, Dr. Eisemann has become known as one of the country’s finest providers of cosmetic surgery. Patients from around the country come to Houston for their breast augmentations because they know Dr. Eisemann will take care of them.

As a triple-board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Eisemann is uniquely positioned to help you with your breast augmentation needs.

If you’re a Houston, Texas resident or if you’re an out-of-town patient considering a breast augmentation, please call The Eisemann Plastic Surgery Center at 713-766-0071 or contact us online.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19

Dr. Michael Eisemann, Dr. Bradley Eisemann, and the entire staff at Eisemann Plastic Surgery are committed to the health and safety of all of our patients and ourselves.

We are thankful to be connected to Houston Methodist Hospital, one of the most respected hospitals in the country. Because of this, our screening policy is aided by the hospital's official policies and checkpoint screening measures completed prior to entering our building. These measures allow us to do everything we can, at this point in time, to minimize the chance that we expose ourselves or our patients to someone who has been sick or contagious with the virus.

We are set up to perform new consults and patient follow-ups via ZOOM video conferencing.

As of Monday, March 23rd, our office is open. We are open and seeing select patients. If you are currently on the schedule, please call our office if you have any concerns about your own health.

While all major hospitals have stopped elective surgery at this time, we are very selectively performing indicated operative procedures in our procedure room and in our AAAASF certified operating room under local and IV sedation.

As always, both Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann are available by phone and email to answer any questions you may have.
