Commenting On Houston Plastic Surgery: What’s The Etiquette?

In our Houston community it’s not uncommon for our acquaintances, colleagues, friends and/or family to have undergone plastic surgery of some sort, whether that’s breast augmentation, liposuction, or a facelift.  If you wonder about whether or not you should comment or ask questions about the person’s new appearance, you’re not alone.  While some people are quite open and vocal about their plastic surgery, others prefer to be more private, so if you say anything, it’s best to err on the side of caution by either saying nothing if in a group of people, or by limiting comments to “You look fantastic.”  It’s always okay to tell someone they look great if it’s a sincere compliment.  However, it is not okay to ask someone if they’ve had work done.  Another guideline is to think about how well you know the person.  If the person who had a facelift is a peripheral friend or acquaintance, then keep it simple if you say anything at all, such as “You’re looking great.”  Of course, closer friends and/or family members may be more comfortable talking to you in private about their plastic surgery procedure.  It’s normal for you to have curiosity about another’s plastic surgery procedure, and the best person to talk to would be a board certified plastic surgeon with a long-time career.  In Houston, Dr. Michael Eisemann is a triple board certified plastic surgeon whose career has spanned nearly 3 decades in helping his patients look their best.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19

Dr. Michael Eisemann, Dr. Bradley Eisemann, and the entire staff at Eisemann Plastic Surgery are committed to the health and safety of all of our patients and ourselves.

We are thankful to be connected to Houston Methodist Hospital, one of the most respected hospitals in the country. Because of this, our screening policy is aided by the hospital's official policies and checkpoint screening measures completed prior to entering our building. These measures allow us to do everything we can, at this point in time, to minimize the chance that we expose ourselves or our patients to someone who has been sick or contagious with the virus.

We are set up to perform new consults and patient follow-ups via ZOOM video conferencing.

As of Monday, March 23rd, our office is open. We are open and seeing select patients. If you are currently on the schedule, please call our office if you have any concerns about your own health.

While all major hospitals have stopped elective surgery at this time, we are very selectively performing indicated operative procedures in our procedure room and in our AAAASF certified operating room under local and IV sedation.

As always, both Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann are available by phone and email to answer any questions you may have.
