Houston Plastic Surgery Year In Review – 2011

Earlier this month the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the nation’s and world’s largest association of board certified plastic surgeons released the recorded medical statistics regarding plastic surgery procedures during 2011. In the United States, plastic surgery procedures (including surgical and minimally invasive) increased by approximately 5% with a total of 13.8 million procedures. The top five surgical procedures include breast augmentation, nose reshaping, liposuction, eyelid surgery, and facelift. All five, with the exception of eyelid surgery, showed modest increases over 2010. Interestingly, the facelift outpaced the tummy tuck for the top five. The increase in facelift procedures is likely related to the Baby Boomer population demanding to look as young as they feel and to remain competitive in the work place. With respect to non-surgical procedures, there were 12.2 million last year, and rounding out the top five were: Botox, soft-tissue/dermal fillers, chemical peels, laser hair removal, and microdermabrasion. Though global economic forces continue to appear volatile in the initial months of 2012, it seems Americans and Houstonians embrace cosmetic procedures of one form or another. Thanks to great advances in surgical techniques and cosmetic products, there are many forms of aesthetic treatment available to patients across a variety of budgets. The Eisemann Plastic Surgery Center is here to help Houston patients uncover the best version of themselves using a wide range of procedures that aim to satisfy patient’s goals and provide safe results.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19

Dr. Michael Eisemann, Dr. Bradley Eisemann, and the entire staff at Eisemann Plastic Surgery are committed to the health and safety of all of our patients and ourselves.

We are thankful to be connected to Houston Methodist Hospital, one of the most respected hospitals in the country. Because of this, our screening policy is aided by the hospital's official policies and checkpoint screening measures completed prior to entering our building. These measures allow us to do everything we can, at this point in time, to minimize the chance that we expose ourselves or our patients to someone who has been sick or contagious with the virus.

We are set up to perform new consults and patient follow-ups via ZOOM video conferencing.

As of Monday, March 23rd, our office is open. We are open and seeing select patients. If you are currently on the schedule, please call our office if you have any concerns about your own health.

While all major hospitals have stopped elective surgery at this time, we are very selectively performing indicated operative procedures in our procedure room and in our AAAASF certified operating room under local and IV sedation.

As always, both Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann are available by phone and email to answer any questions you may have.
