Liposuction: Still The Gold Standard

The news media is abuzz with medical devices and procedures boasting the ability to reduce body fat, total circumference/inches, or cellulite by non-surgical methods.  Some treatments involve ultrasound or freezing fat.  While this may seem appealing to individuals seeking to lose body fat and cellulite, they need to research and be aware of all the facts.  If you read the fine print, some non-surgical body contouring treatments reveal that the FDA has approved them for the temporary removal of fat.  Unfortunately, no definition is provided for what is considered temporary.  Is this days, weeks, months or years?  The individual does not know and is not told.  Other treatments do have clinical data to support claims of fat/cellulite reduction, but results may take weeks to several months.  Most individuals who want to lose body fat and cellulite want to do it as soon as possible.  Liposuction is a surgical procedure that includes a short amount of recovery time before going back to a full range of activities, but the recovery is by no means insurmountable.  Liposuction has been a tried and true method for removing fat and cellulite deposits in patients for many, many years.  Most impressive of all is that the results are dramatic, immediate and long lasting.  Michael Eisemann, M.D. of the Eisemann Plastic Surgery Institute in Houston is triple board certified and has well over 20 years of experience performing liposuction and other complex plastic surgery procedures.  If you’re considering reshaping your body, get all the facts and consult an expert.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19

Dr. Michael Eisemann, Dr. Bradley Eisemann, and the entire staff at Eisemann Plastic Surgery are committed to the health and safety of all of our patients and ourselves.

We are thankful to be connected to Houston Methodist Hospital, one of the most respected hospitals in the country. Because of this, our screening policy is aided by the hospital's official policies and checkpoint screening measures completed prior to entering our building. These measures allow us to do everything we can, at this point in time, to minimize the chance that we expose ourselves or our patients to someone who has been sick or contagious with the virus.

We are set up to perform new consults and patient follow-ups via ZOOM video conferencing.

As of Monday, March 23rd, our office is open. We are open and seeing select patients. If you are currently on the schedule, please call our office if you have any concerns about your own health.

While all major hospitals have stopped elective surgery at this time, we are very selectively performing indicated operative procedures in our procedure room and in our AAAASF certified operating room under local and IV sedation.

As always, both Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann are available by phone and email to answer any questions you may have.
