Why Choose a Tummy Tuck?

Tummy tuck, also called abdominoplasty, is a Houston body contouring procedure that tightens your abdominal muscles, removes excess abdominal skin and fat, and leaves you feeling more confident about your slimmer, more toned abdomen.

In consultation with triple board-certified Houston plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Eisemann, you can discuss whether a tummy tuck is the right procedure to help you achieve your aesthetic goals. It is generally recommended to correct embarrassing issues in the abdomen, such as:

  • Loose, drooping, or sagging skin
  • Loose or bulging muscles
  • Fatty deposits on the waistline
  • Stretch marks

The benefits offered by a Houston tummy tuck surgery make it an optimal post-bariatric surgery procedure. Tummy tuck surgery can also help restore definition and form to the area most impacted by pregnancy, making it a common part of the mommy makeover procedure.

Tummy tuck is not a weight loss procedure. Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann only recommends tummy tuck for Houston patients with a BMI of 25 percent or lower, as using any body contouring procedure for weight loss can be dangerous.

Tummy Tuck Surgery Procedure: What to Expect

We offer full and mini tummy tuck surgery at our nationally accredited Houston surgical facility and will work closely with you to ensure your procedure produces the results you desire.

In general for a tummy tuck procedure, Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann will make an incision across the abdomen above the pubic area. In mini tummy tucks, the incision will be made just over the pubic region. Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann will tighten the abdominal muscles, liposuction excess fat in the area if necessary, trim excess skin and stretch skin into place.

The entire tummy tuck procedure usually takes from two to five hours. The time necessary for your abdominoplasty procedure will depend on how extensive your surgery needs to be.

During tummy tuck recovery, you will be limited in your activities for the first couple of weeks following surgery. By four to six weeks, you should be cleared to return to your normal daily activities. Dr. Eisemann will work closely with you during this time to make sure everything is progressing as normal and to help guard your comfort and safety throughout the healing process.

To learn if you are a good candidate please contact our experienced Houston plastic surgeons, Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann, at our accredited surgical center in Houston, Texas.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19

Dr. Michael Eisemann, Dr. Bradley Eisemann, and the entire staff at Eisemann Plastic Surgery are committed to the health and safety of all of our patients and ourselves.

We are thankful to be connected to Houston Methodist Hospital, one of the most respected hospitals in the country. Because of this, our screening policy is aided by the hospital's official policies and checkpoint screening measures completed prior to entering our building. These measures allow us to do everything we can, at this point in time, to minimize the chance that we expose ourselves or our patients to someone who has been sick or contagious with the virus.

We are set up to perform new consults and patient follow-ups via ZOOM video conferencing.

As of Monday, March 23rd, our office is open. We are open and seeing select patients. If you are currently on the schedule, please call our office if you have any concerns about your own health.

While all major hospitals have stopped elective surgery at this time, we are very selectively performing indicated operative procedures in our procedure room and in our AAAASF certified operating room under local and IV sedation.

As always, both Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann are available by phone and email to answer any questions you may have.
