Breast sagging (ptosis) is an issue we confront often at The Eisemann Plastic Surgery Center. Many women feel that significant breast sagging makes them look aged and fatigued. Others simply don’t feel as beautiful or sexy as a result of ptosis. Sagging breast tissue can detract from the appearance of the entire body, impact clothing options, and reduce confidence, making it a constant point of dissatisfaction for some women.

Fortunately, triple board-certified Houston plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Eisemann can help. Through the use of the breast lift procedure he can raise sagging breast tissue, restoring the sense of lift, vitality and youth that your breasts possessed before ageing, gravity, and related factors took over. During your initial consultation at our Houston plastic surgery office, Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann will carefully assess your level of ptosis, discuss various breast surgery options, and help you decide if a lift procedure will meet your needs.

Breast Lift Incision Options

Breast lift surgery is designed exclusively to eliminate significant and severe sagging concerns. It might be an option if you’re satisfied with the size of your breasts but simply want to achieve a higher, more lifted appearance.

There are four primary breast lift incision options offered by our Houston triple board-certified plastic surgeon that can be used to accomplish a perkier and more appealing look. These are:

  • Crescent – made in the shape of a crescent moon at the top of the nipple, this breast lift incision option is best when nipple placement is of concern, but only a small amount of ptosis is present
  • Circumareolar – also known as a Benelli incision, this breast lift incision is made around the nipple and is best for mild ptosis
  • Lollipop – also known as Vertical Scar Mastopexy, this incision goes around the nipple and extends vertically to the breast crease. The lollipop breast lift incision is often best for moderate ptosis
  • Anchor – for more pronounced ptosis, an anchor incision may be best. This option expands on the lollipop option to include an additional incision along the breast crease

Each breast lift incision offers unique benefits, making individual options better suited for specific needs. During your breast lift consultation with our triple board-certified Houston plastic surgeon it will be determined which incision is ideally suited to produce the look you most desire.

Breast Lift Surgery Candidates

If you are unhappy with the way age, genetics, pregnancy and nursing, and other factors have impacted the perkiness of your breasts, you may be the ideal breast lift candidate. We encourage you to call our  triple board-certified plastic surgeon at (713) 790-1771 to schedule a consultation and find out. During this consultation, Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann will listen to your concerns, evaluate your problem areas, and discuss candidacy requirements such as being:

  • In generally good health
  • Prepared for a surgical procedure and recover period
  • Willing to follow pre and postoperative instructions

Future plans for pregnancy may also be discussed during this consultation. Having children impacts breast tissue significantly and can undo changes made through breast lift surgery. To avoid this, Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann may recommend you wait until you are satisfied with the size of your family before undergoing breast lift as part of a more comprehensive mommy makeover procedure. However, as with all aspects of your physical transformation, this will be based on your needs and desires.

Adding Implants to Your Breast Lift

We often talk about choosing between a breast lift and a breast augmentation, but what is the difference? In short: the latter is about using implants to enlarge your breasts, while the former is more concerned with lift than size. However, there are occasions where this is a false dichotomy. In these circumstances, Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann may suggest you combine the procedures in order to achieve a dramatic change in the overall appearance of your breasts.

A breast lift is usually a good option for women who are satisfied with the size, but not the location, of their breasts, while breast augmentation is generally appropriate if you are concerned with size instead of sagging. Augmentation will address mild sagging, but that is not the primary purpose of the procedure. Instead, it is designed to use safe, well-built breast implants to enhance the size, symmetry, and profile of your breasts.

If you’re concerned with both sagging and size, combining procedures is likely your best option. This combination can address significant self-confidence issues by both lifting your breasts and enhancing their size. It’s also an excellent option if you’re concerned about breast sagging in addition to symmetry, projection, cleavage, and other issues addressed through augmentation.

With this option, our plastic surgeon will lift your breasts by making a series of small incisions, removing excess skin and lifting the underlying tissue, and placing implants (either saline or silicone) underneath the newly lifted breast tissue. The end result will be fuller, larger and higher breasts, helping you achieve the body shape and profile you’ve long desired.

There is no single option that is suited to produce the ideal look and feel for every woman. Our surgeons will take time to listen to your desires and fully assess the natural contours of your frame before making suggestions about which breast surgery options will best meet your needs. With over 30 years of experience and an unwavering dedication to patient satisfaction, our board-certified Houston plastic surgeons are here to customize your breast lift surgery to help create a look that instills confidence, restores self-esteem, and complements all of your other physical features. Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19

Dr. Michael Eisemann, Dr. Bradley Eisemann, and the entire staff at Eisemann Plastic Surgery are committed to the health and safety of all of our patients and ourselves.

We are thankful to be connected to Houston Methodist Hospital, one of the most respected hospitals in the country. Because of this, our screening policy is aided by the hospital's official policies and checkpoint screening measures completed prior to entering our building. These measures allow us to do everything we can, at this point in time, to minimize the chance that we expose ourselves or our patients to someone who has been sick or contagious with the virus.

We are set up to perform new consults and patient follow-ups via ZOOM video conferencing.

As of Monday, March 23rd, our office is open. We are open and seeing select patients. If you are currently on the schedule, please call our office if you have any concerns about your own health.

While all major hospitals have stopped elective surgery at this time, we are very selectively performing indicated operative procedures in our procedure room and in our AAAASF certified operating room under local and IV sedation.

As always, both Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann are available by phone and email to answer any questions you may have.
