Revitalize Your Expression with Eyebrow and Forehead Rejuvenation
The eyebrows are an important facial feature, framing your eyes and giving expression to your face. For both men and women, sagging brows, forehead lines, and hooded eyelids are common signs of aging. These changes can make you appear older, angry, sad, and perpetually tired.
Eisemann plastic surgery center and your goals
Regardless of whether you are a male or female, the primary goal of brow lift patients at the Eisemann Plastic Surgery Center in Houston, Texas is to lift the eyebrows back to a more youthful position and to smooth out the frown line and creases of the forehead. Brow lifts are becoming an increasingly popular surgery for male patients in Houston who want to minimize wrinkles above the eyebrows and to restore a more youthful, refreshed appearance. Brow lifts can slow the signs of aging while also offering correction to drooping eyebrows or furrows just above the nose.
Browlifts for men
For men, brow lifts have a unique set of goals and considerations attuned to the male face. Compared to women, male brows are lower in position and more horizontal without an outward temporal tilt.
Drooping eyebrows can cause more severe problems for men, including vision impairment. Brow lifts are especially helpful in restoring unobstructed vision for men. Additionally, the typical youthful female brow is arched, while the male brow is relatively horizontal. Arching the male brow too high during brow lifts can lead to unnatural results. Finally, it is important to take hair loss into account with male patients in order to avoid accentuating a receding hairline.
Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann consult with their patients in Houston to ensure that individual goals are met and that the most natural results are achieved.
Different types of browlifts
There are three types of brow lifts. The traditional, or coronal, forehead lift technique requires an incision made behind the hairline.
Once the incision is made, Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann carefully remove the excess tissue from the forehead region, before redraping the skin and closing the delicate incision. Typically, this technique may not be the preferred technique for male patients as it slightly raises the hairline. The second approach, called Endoscopic brow lift, is less invasive and is usually preferred by male patients.
In this technique, small incisions are made, the skin is removed at the hairline rather than behind it, and the forehead lift is achieved without raising the hairline. Finally, a transpalpebral browlift can be performed through the upper eyelid incision at the same time as the eyelid lift.
After an initial consultation, Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann can recommend to their Houston brow lift patients whether a traditional brow lift or an endoscopic brow lift would best meet their goals.
Brow lifts typically take one to two hours and are generally performed under I.V. sedation or general anesthesia in our fully accredited facility, accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, Inc. ( AAAASF). Brow lifts are an outpatient procedure, allowing patients to return home within the same day. Most patients return to work within a week to ten days after a brow lift in Houston with Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann. The substantial and natural looking results from brow lifts with Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann will be apparent after about fourteen days.
