The calf muscle can often take years of exercise to develop into a full, desirable shape and size. Even after much dedication and discipline working out, many people experience poor results because some people simply do not have the genetics to achieve calves they desire. While women usually desire accentuated curves from calf implants, men usually seek calf implants to simply increase the size and mass of the lower leg, thus giving the appearance of hours and hours of gym-time working out the calves.

Schedule your initial consultation to see how our experienced team, Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann, can help you. The Eisemann Plastic Surgery Center serves Houston, Clear Lake, and surrounding communities in Texas. Please contact us below or call (713) 790-1771 today.

Many men come into Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann’s office asking for the largest calf implants possible, even though this may not be the best cosmetic result. It is very important to evaluate balance and proportion with the rest of the body before deciding on the largest implants possible, as it is quite easy to over-do the size of the implant without proper consultation.

Soft but solid calf implants are surgically inserted into the lower legs to enhance either one or both of the medial and lateral heads of the muscle that makes up the visible part of the calf muscle tissue. While most men enhance both the medial and lateral heads of the calf muscle during calf implant surgery, some cases of obvious muscle imbalance or trauma to the lower leg call for only one of the heads to be augmented. The implants can be inserted through a small incision in the back of the knee and recovery can take a few weeks to a month.

Calf implants may be right for men in at least average physical condition and in good health who are dissatisfied with the size and appearance of their calf muscles. Calf implant surgery at Eisemann Cosmetic Day Surgery Center is an outpatient procedure, which allows patients to return home the same day. While recovery varies from person to person, it is recommended that patients avoid strenuous activity for at least a month while giving the muscle, skin tissue proper time to heal. Skin may appear shiny and tight until it stretches around the calf implants, and slight bruising and swelling may take a few weeks to a month to recede. While recovery can be slightly uncomfortable while incisions heal and the lower legs adjust to the added pressure, most men are extremely pleased with the results of calf implant surgery at Eisemann Cosmetic Day Surgery Center.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19

Dr. Michael Eisemann, Dr. Bradley Eisemann, and the entire staff at Eisemann Plastic Surgery are committed to the health and safety of all of our patients and ourselves.

We are thankful to be connected to Houston Methodist Hospital, one of the most respected hospitals in the country. Because of this, our screening policy is aided by the hospital's official policies and checkpoint screening measures completed prior to entering our building. These measures allow us to do everything we can, at this point in time, to minimize the chance that we expose ourselves or our patients to someone who has been sick or contagious with the virus.

We are set up to perform new consults and patient follow-ups via ZOOM video conferencing.

As of Monday, March 23rd, our office is open. We are open and seeing select patients. If you are currently on the schedule, please call our office if you have any concerns about your own health.

While all major hospitals have stopped elective surgery at this time, we are very selectively performing indicated operative procedures in our procedure room and in our AAAASF certified operating room under local and IV sedation.

As always, both Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann are available by phone and email to answer any questions you may have.
