When Is Balloon Sinuplasty Necessary?

Balloon sinuplasty becomes necessary when traditional methods of clearing the sinuses prove ineffective. Swollen mucus membranes in the nasal cavity can swell due to colds or allergies. When this happens, the sinuses can no longer drain, and buildup becomes inevitable. Acute sinusitis typically responds to methods such as saline rinses, steam, OTC decongestants and, in more advanced cases, prescription antibiotics. Chronic sinusitis is resistant to many of these at-home methods and may, when totally unresponsive to treatment, necessitate medical intervention. For years, that has come in the form of sinus surgery. Now, advancements in sinus treatment have made balloon sinuplasty possible – allowing for a clearing of the sinuses without incisions, surgical instruments, or the risks that come with surgical intervention.

Triple board-certified Houston ENT Dr. Michael Eisemann is pleased to offer balloon sinuplasty as an alternative to sinus surgery for the treatment of chronic sinusitis. If you have struggled with chronic sinus infection, Dr. Eisemann welcomes an opportunity to meet with you and discuss your condition, assess your sinus passages, and help you decide if nonsurgical sinus opening is the best treatment for you.

Balloon sinuplasty is a safe and effective treatment for chronic sinus infection, even when that infection is recurrent. If you are looking for the safest and most effective way to achieve lasting sinus comfort, please contact Houston ENT Dr. Michael Eisemann online or by calling 855-813-7077 to schedule your consultation today. Dr. Eisemann offers balloon sinuplasty to men and women living in Houston, The Woodlands, Conroe, Sugar Land, Katy, and all surrounding areas.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19

Dr. Michael Eisemann, Dr. Bradley Eisemann, and the entire staff at Eisemann Plastic Surgery are committed to the health and safety of all of our patients and ourselves.

We are thankful to be connected to Houston Methodist Hospital, one of the most respected hospitals in the country. Because of this, our screening policy is aided by the hospital's official policies and checkpoint screening measures completed prior to entering our building. These measures allow us to do everything we can, at this point in time, to minimize the chance that we expose ourselves or our patients to someone who has been sick or contagious with the virus.

We are set up to perform new consults and patient follow-ups via ZOOM video conferencing.

As of Monday, March 23rd, our office is open. We are open and seeing select patients. If you are currently on the schedule, please call our office if you have any concerns about your own health.

While all major hospitals have stopped elective surgery at this time, we are very selectively performing indicated operative procedures in our procedure room and in our AAAASF certified operating room under local and IV sedation.

As always, both Dr. Michael Eisemann and Dr. Bradley Eisemann are available by phone and email to answer any questions you may have.
